It was early 2021 and a group of talented local artists and entrepreneurs who called themselves the G9, came into the BKN office with a peculiar concept and a desire to collaborate with an agency who could understand their unique concept, personalities, and vision. An immersive art experience made out of shipping containers, the Crab Devil team understood that to be successful, they had to partner with an agency that could keep up with their conceptual concept. We knew we were the ones for them, and we launched into the challenge ready to slay.
Throughout our collaboration we designed and developed an award-winning website, drafted a large-scale marketing plan and strategy, created a robust social media presence organically growing their social media accounts, shot an award-winning social media video campaign, and much more.
Website Design
Excellence always starts with an idea. The Crab Devil team knew they wanted their website to emulate the experience of being within their space. With an interactive, quirky user experience in mind, it was our goal to recreate their “Bait Shop,” the soon-to-be entry to their attraction, The Peninsularium. Utilizing still frames from a diorama of the exhibit, we coded an interactive scroller that the user can digitally walk through. With the ability to click on maps, jiggle fish, and open doors, we were able to deliver their vision. With adding additional interactivity to the rest of the site, the Crab Devil website won us a Gold Local and Regional Addy Award.
Social Media
Continuing to grow a digital footprint of this up-and-coming attraction, our social media team was tasked with crafting a unique strategy that was not only informational but creative, historical, art-focused, and community driven. Deploying weekly content from local history posts on Facebook to construction updates on Reels, event posts on Instagram to investor opportunities on LinkedIn, our messaging was concise and consistent. Our creative, award-worthy.
Videography
With a collective of artists in their repetition, in collaboration with the Crab Devil team, we created a social media campaign to get to know the creatives behind the crustacean. With a focus of 3 questions asked to 3 artists a month, we were able to give their audience an inside look at what is to come within the immersive art experience. The series’s won us Good Telly Award in 2023, so we did something right!
Public Relations
Keeping a new concept in the media is a critical yet difficult challenge. Consistently developing news worthy pitches for an attraction that is not yet open and difficult to explain was a feat. With pickups from Tampa Bay Times, ABC Action News, and more, we were able to keep people engaged with this concept, without going stale.

As a creative arts collective, Crab Devil possessed a clear goal in mind for our website design but we had trouble finding a company that was willing and able to execute the look and innovative interactivity we desired for this important online presence for our organization.
